BiO.

I've been drawing since a very young age.  In 3rd grade (7 or 8 years old) I won 3rd prize in a state-wide drawing contest held by the New York State Albany Museum.  I pursued my art (casually) throughout high school, always receiving special projects tailored to me by my (great) teacher.

Not long after high school, I enlisted in the army where my talent was noticed and much utilized.  Ultimately, I was awarded the Battalion Illustrator MOS in addition to my existing Military Police MOS.  After the service, I attended college with my eye on a degree in graphic design.  Due to life's "twists and turns", I was unable to complete my degree, but I did start to pick up freelance gigs here and there.

Some years later, I was introduced to Kevin Conrad, a pro inker in the comics industry.  We quickly became fast friends. Eventually, I became Kevin's assistant, inking backgrounds and borders, always training with the tools of the trade, namely the crowquill.  Kevin would create exercises that I would repeat over and over using the quill. Consequently, I reached a point where Kevin gave me a page from Top Cow's, "Ascension" to ink in it's entirety.  Slipping it into the batch of pages he'd completed, they were returned to the editor.  Only after approval was it revealed that I had done the page.  Apparently impressed with my work, I started receiving regular work from Top Cow, working on titles like "Witchblade", "Ascension" and "Darkness".

From there I got my foot in the door at DC, working on "Superman" and other titles.  Since then, I've produced work for other Image titles, Dark Horse, (the now defunct) Chaos! Comics and other (mostly independent) titles.  I currently pick up (comics) gigs here and there (look for them on the racks!), and I'm branching out into other facets of illustration, painting and subject matter.

I'm always available for commissions (see commissions page).  Presently, I live in the Adirondack (bark-eater) mountains of New York State with my wife and 3 kids, enjoying life.
